What is The Circuit?

The Circuit is our regular Boulder Ladder competition, with a fresh new look. It's a four-week, multi-gym competition you can take part in during your normal climbing sessions - no special booking required. Log your climbs each session using the Griptonite App, and watch your points stack up on the leaderboard. A fresh set of climbs goes up at each gym every week - once a new set is ready, the previous week's climbs close for points and the new set opens for scoring. See where you sit on the leaderboard, with a chance at finals or prizes.

How it works

01

New climbs on reset day

Fresh problems go up at each gym on their usual reset day. You'll have until that gym's next reset to log those climbs via Griptonite.

02

Log your climbs

Open the Griptonite App and scan the QR code at any gym to log your ascents as you send them.

03

Score points

A flash (first-try send) earns the most points. Points step down with each extra attempt, so the earlier you send it clean, the better.

04

Climb the leaderboard

Every point you earn, at any of our three gyms, counts toward the same Circuit leaderboard.

05

Make the final

After four weeks, the top 6 climbers in Open A and Open B (Male and Female) go through to the Final. In the final week (week 4), you'll have until Sunday 8 November COB to log climbs at all gyms - the Final is held the following day at Thebarton. Finalists will be contacted directly.

Get ready

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to enter or sign up?

Yes - registration is free for everyone. Register for your free ticket via this page, then start logging climbs through Griptonite once the competition opens.

Can I climb at more than one gym?

Yes! In fact we encourage it. All three gyms count toward the same leaderboard.

What if I'm not a member?

Registration is still free. To get into the gyms and climb, you can either pay as you go with a casual day pass or 10-Pass each visit, or purchase a Circuit Membership for $150 for full access to all three gyms for the whole competition. The Circuit Membership loads on the first day of the competition (12 October 2026) and expires 8 November 2026.

How do I know what grade I climb?

Look for the coloured tags on the wall. Open A is white to black tags (V6+), Open B is pink to white (V3-V6). Ask staff if you're unsure.

Where's the Final held?

At Thebarton, the day after logging closes. In the final week (week 4), you'll have until Sunday 8 November COB to log climbs at all gyms - the Final runs the following day. Finalists will be contacted directly.
