To ensure the smooth running of BOLDER.youth and maintain a fair, safe, and enjoyable environment for all competitors, the following spectator and coaching rules apply.

Spectator Access

  • One (1) adult spectator per child is permitted during each competition round only.

  • Spectators must remain within the designated viewing areas and follow all instructions from event staff.

  • Once your child's competition round has finished, the accompanying spectator must exit the competition viewing area to allow access for the next group of competitors and their families.

  • If multiple family members would like to watch, spectators may swap between rounds; however, only one adult spectator per competitor will be permitted in the viewing area at any one time.

Coaching & Support During Attempts

To ensure all competitors have an equal and fair experience:

  • Parents, guardians, coaches, and spectators must not provide beta, climbing advice, movement suggestions, or technical tips while a competitor is attempting a climb.

  • This includes calling out specific sequences, holds, movements, body positions, or solutions from the viewing area.

  • Encouragement and positive support are welcome; however, spectators must allow climbers to solve problems independently while they are on the wall.

  • Coaches and parents may provide feedback and instruction outside of active attempts and in designated areas only.

These rules are in place to maintain the integrity of the competition, encourage independent problem-solving, and create a positive experience for every young climber.

Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping us deliver a safe, fair, and enjoyable BOLDER.youth event for all competitors.
